Together with its partners (financiers, builders, lawyers, etc.), it promotes the use of market PPPs (payment by the user: toll roads) and non-market PPPs (public services: schools, hospitals) in French-speaking West Africa. THE DIVISION’S CLUBS
CLUB PPP MEDAFRIQUE
The Club PPP MedAfrique was set up in 2011 to do the same work as the Club PPP in France. The Club's aim is to promote PPPs in French-speaking African countries and around the Mediterranean, and to encourage inter-regional exchanges to develop public infrastructure through PPPs.
The Club is mainly present in West Africa, particularly in Morocco and Mauritania via various local Clubs.
The Club is present in many countries to discuss public infrastructure issues and the benefits of PPPs (Morocco, Côte d'Ivoire, Cameroon, Gabon, Congo, Senegal, Mauritania, etc.). The Club is also regularly present in Africa to take part in and host conferences such as the African Infrastructure Forum, MEDays and the Africa PPP Forum.
EXAMPLE OF A PROJECT LED BY THE AFRICA & INFRASTRUCTURE DIVISION
The Club PPP MedAfrica and its partners, together with CEPROD (a Congolese think tank), organised a training symposium in Brazzaville on PPPs for the public sector.
This was an opportunity to bring together government players and local decision-makers to present and discuss the implementation of this tool at the service of territories for their various structuring projects.
