THE DIVISION’S THINK&DO TANKS

PREVENTION & HEALTH CLUB

Launched in March 2018 by Dr Philippe Denormandie and Marc Teyssier d'Orfeuil, the Club is working with its partners to integrate prevention into the heart of our healthcare system on a long-term basis, thereby making it more effective, attractive and at the service of its users. Its aim is to activate the levers needed to make prevention one of the mainstays of our public health policies. To do this, it aims to create the conditions for a lasting and constructive dialogue between political leaders and those involved in prevention, over and above partisan considerations.

AGEING WELL CLUB

Set up in 2013, the Club aims to encourage the emergence of a constructive forum for dialogue between political leaders and economic players.  Its aim is to make the objective of "ageing well" a major concern for public authorities. To achieve this, its role is to keep the debate going, on an ongoing basis and at the highest level, by making proposals before, during and after political decisions.

EXAMPLE OF A PROJECT CARRIED OUT BY THE DIVISION

Skills sponsorship support for the ENDOmind France association
As part of its skills sponsorship programme, the Division supported ENDOmind France, an association of patients suffering from endometriosis, with the aim of having the disease included on the list of long-term illnesses 30 (ALD 30) and obtaining genuine institutional recognition for women suffering from this chronic, painful, progressive and incurable gynaecological disease, which affects every aspect of their lives.
After several months of mobilisation, the association was able to obtain the support of several hundred members of parliament from all parties and all generations, as well as the Paris City Council. In just a few months, in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, this action helped to raise the profile of women's health and endometriosis, and put it on the agenda of the then Minister for Health and Solidarity, Olivier Véran.
In addition to submitting numerous written questions and letters to the Minister, and tabling draft bills and resolutions (including one by Clémentine Autain, unanimously adopted by the National Assembly in January 2022), the Minister launched work on a national strategy against endometriosis, which came into being in February 2022.
Since then, much remains to be done, but the subject of women's health and, in particular, the treatment of endometriosis is more visible.
Com'Publics remains close to the ENDOmind France association and the Endometriosis Research Foundation, which was created in 2021.

COALITION LOBBYING WITHIN THE HEALTH, SOCIAL AFFAIRS AND AGEING WELL DIVISION’S THINK & DO TANKS

Each of the two think&do tanks in the Division organises between 6 and 10 meetings a year, giving their partners the opportunity to exchange views with decision-makers and experts in the prevention and ageing well sector and to establish regular links with public authorities.
They can also mobilise the leverage of coalition lobbying, i.e. the joint support of an action or position by the think&do tank on behalf of its partners. The aim is to transcend the representation of interests by putting forward joint proposals aimed at improving health prevention policies or policies on ageing well.
To this end, each of the think & do tanks has drawn up and circulated proposals to the candidates in the 2022 presidential election. These pleas continue to be promoted as part of their work.
The annual work perspectives of both Clubs are fully developed with their partners at the beginning of each year.
